Affiliate Disclosure
RodentVerify is free to read. Some pages may contain affiliate links or
other compensated commercial links. This page explains what those links
mean, how RodentVerify may earn revenue, and why commercial relationships
do not determine our editorial conclusions.
What an Affiliate Link Is
An affiliate link is a tracked link that lets a retailer, marketplace,
affiliate network, or other partner know that a visitor arrived from
RodentVerify.
If you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, RodentVerify
may receive a commission. In most cases, this does not increase the price
you pay.
Where appropriate, commercial links are identified with a disclosure near
the link, recommendation, comparison, or other relevant content.
Affiliate Programs
RodentVerify may participate in affiliate programs offered by retailers,
marketplaces, manufacturers, or affiliate networks whose products are
relevant to mice and rat identification, trapping, exclusion, cleanup,
monitoring, and home protection.
Specific affiliate relationships may change over time as programs,
retailers, product availability, and the needs of the site change.
Participation in an affiliate program does not mean that every product
from that retailer or program is recommended, reviewed, or appropriate
for every rodent problem.
Amazon Associates
RodentVerify may participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program,
an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for websites
to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon and affiliated sites.
If and when Amazon affiliate links are used on RodentVerify, the disclosure
required by the Amazon Associates Program will be displayed as required.
Professional Referrals
Some rodent situations are more appropriate for professional inspection,
exclusion, cleanup, or pest-management service than for another DIY product.
RodentVerify may use compensated referral or lead-generation relationships
with professional service providers or referral platforms. Where such a
relationship may generate compensation, we aim to disclose that commercial
relationship clearly.
The possibility of compensation does not determine when our guides recommend
professional help. That decision should be based on the situation itself:
risk, accessibility, contamination, repeated activity, structural complexity,
or another practical limit on responsible DIY.
How Affiliate Relationships Affect Recommendations
Affiliate commissions do not determine the conclusion of a RodentVerify guide.
A rodent problem may call for a product, but it may also call for better
identification, safe cleanup, exclusion work, monitoring, or professional
inspection. Some of those recommendations may generate no affiliate revenue
at all.
If the evidence suggests that buying another trap, bait, material, or other
product is not the right next step, our editorial goal is to say so plainly.
You can read more about how we separate sourcing, safety, product research,
and commercial relationships in our
Editorial & Sourcing Policy.
How We Choose Products to Mention
Product inclusion should be based on relevance to the specific homeowner
decision, not simply on whether an affiliate link is available.
Depending on the guide, we may consider:
- the rodent species or problem the product is intended to address;
- where and how the product is designed to be used;
- dimensions, construction, materials, or mechanism;
- manufacturer instructions and restrictions;
- child and pet access considerations;
- maintenance or replacement requirements;
- whether the product fits the problem better than a non-product alternative.
We Do Not Claim Testing We Have Not Done
An affiliate relationship is not evidence that RodentVerify personally
tested a product.
If a guide is based on manufacturer documentation, official product labels,
public specifications, university guidance, regulatory sources, or other
published information, we should describe it that way.
Hands-on testing will only be described as such when it actually occurred.
Prices and Availability
Prices, availability, package contents, model numbers, product specifications,
labels, and retailer information can change.
Any price or availability mentioned on RodentVerify should be treated as
general information rather than a guarantee. Always check the current
retailer page and, where relevant, the current product label before buying
or using a product.
Trademarks and Product Names
Product names, company names, logos, trademarks, and registered trademarks
mentioned on RodentVerify belong to their respective owners.
Their use on this site is for identification, comparison, commentary,
and educational purposes. Mentioning a company or product does not imply
endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, or affiliation unless that
relationship is explicitly stated.
Our Commitment to Transparency
- We will not rank a product higher simply because it pays a larger commission.
- We will not claim hands-on testing that did not occur.
- We will not hide a commercial relationship when disclosure is appropriate.
- We will not turn every rodent problem into a shopping recommendation.
- We will not recommend pesticide use that conflicts with the current label.
- We will not present a higher-risk situation as a simple DIY job just because a product is available.
